PROJECT HAITI 2010:
After five weeks on the ground in Haiti, CAN-DO Assessed 17 camps, distributed over 150,000 gallons of purified water, helped relocate displaced families, distributed over 15,000lbs of medical supplies and more than 8,000lbs of food.
As part of the distribution process, CAN-DO has employed a local Haitian water company, drivers and fixers as a way to aid in the rebuilding process and put money back into the local economy. Right now with the influx of supply going into Haiti our goal is to streamline the distribution process by utilizing the Haitian communities to not only distribute the supplies but to take a more active role in rebuilding their own communities. As we head back to Haiti, we will continue to expand our distribution systems to get aid to the frontlines by addressing the severe bottleneck that has occurred. Funds contributed will go directly to expanding these distribution systems to increase effectiveness and efficiency in the relief process for the organizations on the ground, employing the survivors of this disaster to rebuild their communities while providing income generating opportunities in the rebuilding process. With your help, CAN-DO will continue to get aid to the frontlines. You will be able to see your donations at work as CAN-DO continues to document the IMPACT you are making in real time.
